Xanten – is a small historic town in the west of Germany. Xanten is known for the Archaeological Park (Germany's biggest archaeological open-air museum and one of the largest in the world) on the site of the ancient Roman city of Colonia Ulpia Traiana and its medieval picturesque city centre with Xanten Cathedral and many museums. It is visited by approximately one million tourists a year.
