30.12.09 One more place to play Shuffleboard in Germany has just been build within the "Bowling- and Eventcenter Skyline" in Geseke, NRW. Owner Robert Lammers and his team offer the new family attraction to their guests. Following the TV appearance late October...
...the trendy family sport Shuffleboard finds more and more its way throughout Germany. The "Skyline" offers two brand new PolyCourts to their guests. During winter they are located in the spacious and luxury event hall, during sumer they will be moved to an outside place near the beer garden. The new courts will make their official debut during the "Skyline Wintercup" in February 2010. Being an innovative organization, the German Shuffleboard Asociation is constantly looking to improve the game of Shuffleboard and find more ways to attract attention. This time the tournament is played as a Doubles tournament where players can pick their favorite partners. To prevent the top players from outplaying other teams, a handicap is attributed to each team. This handicap is derived from the actual German Ranking and results in a headstart for the "weaker" teams. Simply spoken, the better the team, the more advantage their opponents get. This helps to balance the chances for all teams and attract all kinds of players. The new format has been tested intensively for the last weeks during practice hours at the National Shuffleboard Centre and has been optimized for the very special Shuffleboard requirements. The GSA, as well as the "Eventcenter Skyline" is very much looking forward to that new format and another highlight in German Shuffleboard.
