... short history of German Shuffleboard a woman ascended the throne. Birgitt was the only player to win all her games, which is even more to be appreciated if one thinks of all her organizational duties during the tournament.
 S. Runge, B. und D. Hußmann In the finals, the 8th game of the new German Champion, she played her best Shuffleboard to defeat defending titleholder Sebastian Runge from Meerbusch. Sebastian as a real sportsman congratulated Birgitt for her victory and joined the crowd to cheer for the Champion. Sebastian will take comfort from his 2nd place and his return to the top of the actual German Ranking after a few months. Two Langenselbold players met in the game for 3rd place, where Dieter Hussmann defeated young Sven Wuellner.
 Alt und Jung bei der Spielanalyse Places 5 to 10 were all in hands of teenagers. Torben Hussmann, Marcel Hinkel and Adrian Gepel finished 5th, 6th and 8th. Willi Wuesthoff from Neubrandenburg (9th) and Marius Runge from Meerbusch (10th) completed this bunch of Youngsters. However we should not forget Lore Wuellner (7th). She celebrated another top performance and underpinned the Ladies' strength. There were some Newbies that overcame the cut to reach the Top 16 tournament: Herbert Beinlich (11th) and Wilfried Fischer (14th) from Gruendau, as well as Selbold's Irmgard Rudl (13th), Ulla Voltin (15th) and Hans Rudl (16th). They proved that regular practice is a perfect way to improve your play. Monika Hille (12th) proved this already during the last 3 years..
 Weiteste Anreise: die Wüsthoffs aus MVP The German Shuffleboard Association e.V. is excited about the success of the Championships 2009 and is now concentrating on the preparation of an even bigger event. Starting August 1st next year the ISA Team World Cup will take place in Germany and the Germans will have to prove their organizational skills to the Shuffleboard World.Placements in detail: 1.
