The official story began on December 25th, 2005. At the house of the Runge's in Meerbusch Birgitt, Heinz-Dieter and Willi Hußmann, José da Silva Pires, Kerstin and Sebastian Runge as well as Anneliese Zöllner met for the foundation of the German Shuffleboard Association.

Already on December 11th, the website www.shuffleboard.de went live.

The International Shuffleboard Association (ISA) was very pleased about the incoming new member country and sent an invitation to the next World Championships in Lakeside, Ohio (USA).

The newly elected Board of Directors with President Heinz-Dieter Hußmann, General Secretary José da Silva Pires and Treasurer Birgitt Hußmann sent a letter to the ISA to thank them for the invitation and to officially inform about the foundation of the GSA.
